so... spinsterhood.

I'm from a family of spinsters. O_O
(that is - from my mom's side. from my dad's side -
they're a completely opposite story)
as i was saying - from my mom's side we have spinsters. old maids. old bachelors and bachelorettes. some by choice. the others by circumstance.
ages ranging from 30 - 45.
most of them are professionals and college graduates.
they're fairly nice and decent human beings.
but definitely CONSERVATIVE people.

now where was i...
ah yes.
my always single and available aunts and uncles.
it has always been a topic of interest during family reunions.
a typical conversation would go something like:

"you know Joy? she's this and this.... She has a boy now and...."
"oh really? that's good."
"and there's also your nephews and nieces. i heard they're in...."
"so how about you? when are you going to get married?"
"i haven't found the one yet. why don't you ask ______ when he/she is going to get married?"

of course since there's quite a lot of single people in the room... it would be an hour or so before the topic is run down to the ground.

I would understand if they were like really hideous or ugly.
they're not. they're just average looking people.
2 eyes. a nose. a mouth. 2 ears. last time i checked... they still had teeth.
which is why it makes me wonder.

I'm 24 now.
In six years time.
I am soon going to be in the front line receiving a barrage of questions about my status.
am i doomed for spinsterhood as well?
